Everybody has different desires, and it can be difficult to reconcile them all.
However, as a manifestation life coach, I’ve found that for the vast majority of us – dare I say, 99% of us – truly just want one thing – to live a life where the things we need and want are abundant.
If you’re looking for dating and relationship coaching, for example, what you’re really looking for is an abundance of deep, fulfilling love in your life.
If you’re looking for wellness and lifestyle coaching, what you’re really looking for is an abundance of health.
And if you’re looking for confidence and mindset coaching, what you’re really looking for is an abundance of the satisfaction and joy that comes from a fulfilling, satisfying life of your dreams.
It’s all wealth and abundance coaching.
Last week, we talked about the difference between scarcity mindset and abundance mindset , as well as some of the negative consequences of remaining in scarcity mindset.
I don’t ever like to leave things on a sour note, though – there’s far too much opportunity, far too much joy to be found in the world for that.
So this week, we’re going to explore how you can train your mind to break out of the scarcity mindset trap and start living in abundance.
Because life is nothing but a constantly shifting paradigm.
Who are we? Where will we be guided?
The answer to that depends on our mindset.
In scarcity, we are guided to a state of fear, resentment, and frustration.
It keeps you stuck, stagnant, making the same mistakes over and over.
In abundance, we are guided to a state of gratitude, creativity, cooperation, and opportunity.
It recognizes that life is full of limitless potential, and that by embracing the inherent uncertainty of life and surrendering to the process, we can access the law of attraction and truly manifest the life of our dreams.
I know which one sounds better to me.
Here are three ways to train your mind to break free of scarcity and manifest the life of your dreams.
1. Learn To Recognize And Reframe Your Scarcity Based Thoughts
If you grew up in a space where a scarcity mindset was encouraged, it’s likely to come naturally to you at this point.
In fact, it may be so ingrained into the way you look at the world that you might not even recognize when they come up.
That’s why it’s important to learn to recognize when these ideas come up, and how you can reframe them in your mind.
For example, if you’re an entrepreneur or a business owner, you might consider the costs of your business.
And yes, in many ways we’re trained to think about the cost of something any time we need to exchange money for it.
But in business, is it really a cost, or is it an investment?
If you buy a training package or new equipment to improve your skills, or you hire a marketing team or personal assistant, the idea is not to spend money, but to improve your ability for wealth to return to you.
So in that case, it’s not a cost at all, but an investment.
Just like any investment, you focus less on the number of dollars you need to exchange for it, but what it can bring you.
So in that regard, you begin to reframe it.
Here are some other examples of thoughts rooted in scarcity and how you can reframe them to achieve an abundance mindset:
- Your industry becomes your network
- Your products or services become your value offering
- Security becomes opportunity
- Management becomes leadership
- “I can’t afford this” becomes “I have other priorities”
- Employees become valuable team members
- Incremental change becomes progress toward exponential growth
- “I’ll be alone forever” becomes “the right person is out there, I just haven’t met them yet”
2. Practice Mindfulness
Mindfulness, simply put, is the practice of being fully attentive to what’s happening at any given moment.
Far too often, our minds tend to drift into another period in time beyond the one we’re currently in.
We wander into the past –ruminating on the friendships we’ve lost, the guilt trips we’ve endured, the expectations of others you’ve not lived up to.
Regretting what we haven’t done, what we haven’t accomplished, what we weren’t able to do.
This assumes you no longer have time to begin manifesting your dream life; that you’re stuck with what you have now – you didn’t take action in the past, so the window of opportunity has closed.
Or, we drift into the future – we spiral into catastrophizing about what might happen, letting fear and anxiety take over.
Abundance can’t live in either of these states.
With mindfulness, on the other hand, you return to the now.
You recognize that right now, in this very moment, you have everything you need.
Whether or not that changes in the future is irrelevant – in the present moment, you are okay.
By being fully present in the moment, experiencing the various sensations of your body, and remaining in a state free of judgment, you can better manage scarcity oriented thought spirals and begin to cultivate abundance.
3. Practice Gratitude
Gratitude is a subject that’s often misunderstood.
In its simplest form, gratitude is simply the practice of recognizing the positive things you have in your life – from the little things to the big.
That doesn’t mean you should just think happy thoughts all the time, or that you should pretend adversity isn’t happening.
This is what’s become known as toxic positivity, and it’s neither healthy nor realistic.
Rather, gratitude gives you the space to appreciate the positives in your life.
Celebrate your wins, your accomplishments, even the ones that may seem minor.
Because while not every accomplishment is enormous, they can lead to bigger and better things.
As Amie Kaufman said, it only takes one pebble to start an avalanche.
Practicing gratitude for the positive things you have in your life can help you stay grounded as you work through the adversity you face.
It can help you realize that even though what you may be facing might be big, you have a lot in your favour that can help you see your way through it as you continue to manifest the life of your dreams.
This is, in essence, an abundance mindset.
