Somatic Breathwork Sessions
Somatic Breathwork is a transformational therapeutic breathing process which combines an ancient breathing technique with upbeat, positive music to create an incredible physical and spiritual experience.
It is intended to help with personal awareness and emotional healing.
Benefits of Breathwork
It is a simple, safe, and extremely effective process for experiencing breakthroughs and optimal wellness in your life.
Somatic Breathwork is an active breathing process that differs from most traditional meditation and mindfulness practices. Most people report it is unlike anything they’ve ever experienced before.
We often underestimate the simple things we are so blessed with - ability to take a breath and oxygen. Both are available to us in abundance. Using the breath combined with rhythmic, upbeat music creates a truly unique experience with a premise to help the participant come away feeling personally empowered. The breathing will provide us with whatever energetic experience we are ready for and can handle.
The great thing about Somatic Breathwork is that you are in complete control of the experience.
If it is getting too intense you simply stop doing the active breathing. Revelation Breathwork is empowering for this very reason. You are the person who is controlling the breathing. Nothing is being done to you.
Each breathwork session is different and the experience is always unique.
Note: The most important part of somatic breathwork is to allow yourself to have whatever experience you are having, without judging it, wanting it to stop, trying to deny that we are having it, or wishing it was different. The more we are able to surrender to the experience and trust that our body is safe and knows what it can handle, we will have a healing and rejuvenating experience.

CONTRAINDICATIONS
Somatic Breathwork is considered a safe, enjoyable and well-tolerated experience for most people. It can result in an intense physical and emotional release and therefore, in some cases, it may not be advisable to do breathwork.
For the full list of contraindications, please refer to the FAQs section.
This work is deeply experiential. It may involve intense and energetic emotional release. Somatic Breathwork work does not substitute for psychotherapy, but it can significantly deepen and enhance psychotherapy and other healing and personal growth efforts.
BREATHWORK FAQs
A Somatic Breathwork session is approximately 55 - 90 minutes long, separated into four parts.
The first part includes a short conversation, an intention setting, and an introduction explaining how to do the 2-part active breathing technique. I will make sure you understand the process before moving forward. We also may decide to have a theme for the session like wholeness, surrender, empowerment, compassion, etc.
The second part consists of the active breathing portion. This lasts about 23-28 minutes long. It is accompanied by positive, upbeat music played at a loud volume. The reason for this is so that a person feels like he/she is in their own cocoon. This helps to feel more comfortable if you have emotions coming up.
In the third part, the active breathing technique stops and our breathing returns to normal. Softer music is played for 15 minutes and occasionally a client is guided through a process. A person usually lays on a yoga mat or blanket for the second and third part.
The fourth and final part is a personalized check-in, an invitation to share your experience and ask any questions. As a coach, I am able to guide you on what the next steps are and address any questions you may have.
Please take note of the list of contraindications of breathwork. If you experience any of these, please consult and get approval from your primary care physician before you participate in this work. Persons with asthma should bring their inhaler and consult with their primary care physician and the Revelation Breathwork class facilitator.
Revelation Breathwork is extremely personal. As such, participants have a wide range of experiences that are unique to their lives. It can be common to be at a loss for words after a session since your analytical mind has been moved to the side. When the session is over, this analytical mind can come rushing in wanting to understand or explain what happened. There are several ways we can integrate after a session:
Some people find that talking about their experience can validate it. They find comfort in discussing the experience with others.
Other people wish to remain in silence and enjoy the quiet before the analytical mind kicks in.
It’s common to feel ungrounded after a session. Drinking water helps a lot. As does eating healthy, nourishing foods.
Some people like to journal or draw after their experience.
Some people feel charged and energized. While others may feel drained.
All experiences are OK. And because each session is different, how we feel after each session may be different. If you have any concerns about how you feel or your state-of-mind after a session, please contact your facilitator to discuss this.
A 1:1 virtual private healing session is a powerful opportunity for deep healing. The session is customized to your specific situation and needs. Prior to the session, I will ask for your input before I create a playlist for your session. During the session, if this is your first session, it may take up to 90 min. Subsequent sessions are usually an hour long.
The session will start by talking about your situation and what healing or shifts you’d like to experience through the breathing process. It helps you prepare for the healing you’re ready to receive. It also helps me to understand you and your situation better so I can support you in healing during the breathwork session.
The next session is the breathing portion. During this phase, as you breathe, I'll be supporting you in moving the blocked energy out and claiming a new attunement to what it is that you're wanting to experience in your life. After the breathing, there's some time for integration and how you can support yourself moving forward after the session.
If you are ready for a deeper level of healing in a powerful way, I’m here to support you.
There is no right answer here. Somatic Breathwork is a very effective tool that allows a person to release mental and emotional stress, as well as connect to their spiritual Authentic Self.
Each Breathwork session is different because we are different each time we engage in the practice. Therefore, I recommend that you do Breathwork regularly. I say ‘regularly’ and not ‘whenever you need it,’ because in my experience as a life coach most people set aside their self-care practices when they need them the most (i.e., they are highly stressed or too busy). If you establish a regular practice of 1 or 2x per week, that will support you through the ups and downs of daily living.
My suggestion would be to follow your own guidance. Personally, sometimes I practice multiple times a week, other times, once a week is enough. If you think of Breathwork as an energetic detox and recharge, it makes sense to do it regularly. Just like brushing your teeth.
Again, there is no magic answer here. I’ve experienced positive results from as little as 7 minutes. I’ve also done sessions where I’m breathing for an hour. In a private session, we engage in active breathing for about 23-28 minutes. We follow this up with 12-15 minutes of restful breathing.
Start simple. Find a 7-10 minute music track (or tracks) and then add about 3 minutes of rest afterwards. That’s only 10 minutes. Very doable.
I was trained by Jason Amoroso and Dr Maura Moynihan, the creators and founders of Revelation Breathwork.
